DOES MY BROKER NEED MY PERMISSION TO MAKE A TRADE?
Yes, your broker needs permission to make a trade in your account. There are very limited circumstances under which the broker does not need your permission. One of those is if you have a discretionary account where you’ve given written approval for the broker to trade, and the other is if there is a margin call on your account, and the firm has to sell you out to meet that margin. Other than that, if a broker makes a trade in your account without getting your permission, you may have a cause of action for unauthorized trading.
